Backing Community Initiatives at Te Aroha Noa

Young families and visitors to the Te Aroha Noa Community Services facility have welcomed their recent upgrade and refurbishment, which came about with a little help from our 40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes appeal.

Nominated by the centre’s community services CEO, Bruce Madden, Te Aroha Noa is an innovative family and community development organisation working with and based in the suburb of Highbury, Palmerston North, New Zealand. Offering a wide range of programs, the team and volunteers at the organisation help those in need to tackle life’s challenges.

With the organisation’s commitment to the programmes and the positive community response, Te Aroha Noa Community Services has undergone recent property developments to expand their community reach on a limited budget. When it came to flooring, we were delighted to help ease that budgetary pressure and provide flooring suitable for staff and visitors.

Our local flooring partner, Flooring Xtra Feilding, replaced the existing polished concrete floor with 80 square metres of our Opus Argen in the common area. Due to the nature of Opus’ large plank format, it’s quick to install, which meant reduced downtime. Plus, with its 0.5mm wear layer, it will also cope with high levels of visitor foot traffic to the centre.

“The extremely generous prize we were awarded has been a wonderful upgrade for our facility,” explained staff member at Te Aroha Noa, Julene Duerksen-Kapao. “Having Karndean has been a great improvement to our space, as it’s so easy to clean, meaning tidying up at the end of the day is super simple and quick.”
