With the recent unveiling of Dulux’s Colour of the Year at ColourFutures 2016, Cherished Gold has us looking to 2016 with much anticipation and excitement.

Every year, an impressive panel of global trend forecasters and colour experts come together to review developments across an array of disciplines. Drawing upon influences such as the economy, politics, technology and the runway, they gallantly draw up palettes that define our era. Careful and considered reflection over three days results in 50-60 colours being chosen to dynamically represent these trends; with one nominated as Colour of the Year…no pressure then, Cherished Gold!

Encapsulating a broad range of yellows, this orche shade portrays the ongoing trend of warm, metallic golden tones being used everywhere in design. However, as the 2016 palette is focused on muted, soft hues, Cherished Gold boasts a sense of sophisticated heritage.

Bringing this to today’s style agenda, you’ll be overjoyed to find it’s easily incorporated into any home style or decor scheme. Whether it’s to highlight or make a statement in any room in your home, it offers endless versatility. As seen above, Amara’s Zoffany Gold Mosaic wallpaper pairs effortlessly with more neutral and organic palettes, like our Art Select Jersey Limestone stone effect tile.

In our humble opinion, Cherished Gold is one of kind. Its rich but subtle depth is beautifully highlighted by the sophisticated elegance it oozes with brightness. A true representation of our time, we’re eager to see how next year seeks inspiration from this wonder.
