Which Colors Go Well With Bamboo Flooring?

One of the neat things about bamboo flooring and other wood accents are the natural glow it can provide to any room. They are able to bring that natural feel and warmth regardless of their color or texture. Bamboo floors are also easy to maintain in the longer term as you only need to vacuum or sweep regularly to prevent small particle debris from accumulating. A non-alkaline hardwood floor cleanser can also be used along with mopping. This type of floor is also more resistant to water damage, warping and stains than some other hardwood floor materials.

When you install bamboo flooring, you should not fight against the benefits that they can bring aesthetically. You should always enhance them by complementing the floor or contrasting the floor with the right colors. You will be delighted to know that whether the wood comes in a whiter shade, a darker tint, or reddish or honey brown shade, most of the color choices that go with one kind of wood will typically go well with the others. Let’s take a look at some of the possible colors that you can play with.

Sea and sky colors

As wood materials have that natural feel, it is often nice to pair them with shades that are able to evoke the great outdoors. For instance, pairing lighter grays with blonder woods is a good start. Do not hesitate to opt for brighter shades either – a sky or light blue can enhance a room and even brighten it in a dramatic fashion. You can also consider going with turquoise or aqua to evoke a beautiful day out at the beach.

Contrasting brown colors

You should avoid using darker browns if the color of the wood is similar. The main goal is to contrast the floors from the walls to create a greater sense of the immediate space. Hence, you should use lighter colors above darker woods. Beiges and tans will work well with light woods and they are one of those choices that will not go wrong.

Sunset colors

By that, we mean the colors that are visible when the sun sets in a desert. In other words, blues, reds and oranges can work pretty well with wood flooring to give the feeling of a warm and dusky evening. Try to avoid using anything that is too bright or go with deeper tones that contain hints of brown.

Calming green colors

Green is an ideal choice because by going for bamboo flooring, it already shows that you are engaging in the green movement. By using green to complement the wood texture’s look, it immediately makes sense to hold the interior design together. You can also use varying shades of green to create a stronger look against the backdrop of bamboo flooring.

Rich white colors

You can’t go wrong with standard whites as they are the obvious choice for room that is infused with wood. That being said, try to avoid anything that is too stark and just go with something that is softer that contains creamy undertones. For instance, a creamy white will work flawlessly with amber trim or floors and an eggshell finish will provide that right amount of luster. If you are planning to go with a full rich cream color, try to lessen the yellow as it may clash with the color of your wood floors.
