Keep an eye out for our Karndean LooseLay designs on TV2’s My Kitchen Rules (MKR), airing Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th December at 7.30pm!
With the grand finale just around the corner, the remaining teams in the competition have descended upon Karndean LooseLay in the MKR Cook-Off Kitchen, where the champions for 2015 will be determined.
When constructing the studio’s kitchen, the show producers of MKR Series Two identified that durability was key. After all, in the heat of any kitchen there will be accidental spillages and relentless foot traffic from pacing contestants.
Catching the attention of Series Producer Simon Fleming, our Karndean LooseLay fit the bill for the hit TV show. “We required flooring that we could retro-fit easily and quickly over the existing warehouse floor – LooseLay’s innovative friction grip backing was ideal product for this.
“The set also needed hardwearing floors to accommodate the camera crew, and LooseLay was able to cope and perform in this fast moving environment,” commented Simon. Joining forces with KR Flooring in Auckland, Simon and the team combined four different Karndean LooseLay designs; Copper Gum, Merbau, Tasmanian Wattle and Winchester.
Creating a unique and eclectic charm, the blend of the designs perfectly sets the scene for the ultimate cook-off. “The kitchen has come together and the flooring looks fantastic. The mixture of LooseLay planks adds warmth to the MKR set, whilst complementing the industrial setting”.
