Sketch Architects has refurbished a terraced home in south west London. The property is now a more liveable and usable home for a growing family.

Before renovation, the building felt disconnected. The previous side return extension had done little to enhance the space, and every zone of the house felt separated.

The young owners wanted to open up the back of the house and create a spacious design. They also hoped to establish better connections throughout the rest of the ground level.

The architects added an airy, bright rear extension with large glass doors opening to the outside areas and a playful basement room.
